A heart day
There is a tune I love called ‘A Different Age’ by Current Joys. Our dreams are all the same the lyrics says. Seems simple enough but it is not a happy tune. It is about lives without love, about going insane, about love without life, about resignation and repeating the same old patterns.
At a yoga school, there is a wall of classes and there are ‘how to talk to humans’ to ‘how to access yourself’ workshops. Now you might think the tune and the workshops are two different matters. But they are not.
What is going on in the world that we have created (yes we create this!) that we can no longer feel ourselves or others. It is a world where the crazy meets the limited and they reign supreme like deranged lost rulers. Yes I am talking about the mind being afraid of the real ruler… the heart.
I suspect that maybe the answer is a merger. With the heart ruling. Like a simple Balinese family gathering after a ceremony. It’s perhaps love with deep sense of grounding. Until then, maybe the mind will keep coming up with ideas (Fame? Money? Success? Plastic surgery?…) to fulfil that dream before it runs out of steam ... and surrenders to the heart.
So today I’ve decided it’s going to be a heart day. A day of surrender, like a child (or an exhausted adult) We will just strengthen the heart muscle and just be.
Namaste.
